While in Boston, he served on the faculty at Harvard Medical School as the Director of the Endoluminal Surgery Program and an Assistant Professor of Medicine. His skills include advanced procedures such as endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), endoscopic full-thickness resection (eFTR), and endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), which enable the removal of early cancers and large colon polyps, often sparing patients from surgery and colon resections. He also has expertise in treating Barrett’s esophagus with radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and in managing gallstones and complex pancreatic and biliary diseases through procedures like endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). Additionally, Dr. Gabr provides minimally invasive treatments for swallowing disorders such as Zenker’s diverticulum and achalasia through per-oral endoscopic myotomy (POEM).
Known for his contributions to the field of endoscopy, Dr. Gabr has developed equipment that enhances procedural efficiency and safety, allowing patients to benefit from state-of-the-art care that reduces recovery time and improves quality of life.
