Dr. Jason J. Schrager, M.D., is an accomplished Gastroenterologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Holding an M.D. from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, he honed his skills in General Surgery during his residency at Vanderbilt University. His commitment to lifelong learning led him to pursue further specialization in Critical Care Medicine from the University of Cincinnati.
Dr. Schrager has a comprehensive medical license from Ohio and has been certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, Surgical Critical Care. He is also an ATLS Instructor, possessing extensive expertise in Disaster Management and Emergency Preparedness.
His distinguished career includes serving as an Active Duty General Surgeon for the United States Navy, and he continues to serve in the Inactive Reserve. During his military service, Dr. Schrager took up numerous roles, including Staff General Surgeon at US Naval Hospital, Okinawa, and Officer-in-Charge at the Forward Resuscitative Surgical System.
In his current role at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, he serves as Medical Director for Acute Care Surgery, demonstrating leadership and unparalleled expertise in his field. He has also notably established and directed the Colonoscopy/Consult Prep Clinic for General Surgery.
A respected member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Schrager’s work has been widely recognized. His exceptional contributions to academia are evident in his extensive list of publications and his active participation in scientific assemblies and symposiums.
