Loren Brook, MD, MS is an Associate Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He completed his medical degree at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where he earned a combined MD, MS in Nutrition. He did his Internal Medicine Residency at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and returned to Cincinnati for fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Cincinnati. After fellowship, he joined UC as faculty. As a board-certified in gastroenterologist, Dr. Brook specializes in digestive disease with clinical interests that include acute GI hospital medicine and GI luminal clinical trials. He treats a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions through both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. He practices at UC Health facilities throughout Cincinnati, combining patient care with academic responsibilities such as clinical research and teaching, and has expertise in areas like endoscopy, colonoscopy, and the management of complex GI disorders.
Loren currently serves as the Director of Clinical Operations, Medical Director at the outpatient endoscopy center, University Endoscopy Center, and is the Director of Luminal GI Clinical Trials. When he is not doing GI, Dr. Brook enjoys endurance road cycling and running, along with adding to his sneaker collection and anything Star Wars. In October 2025, he welcomed his first son Oscar with his wife Mary Kate.
